Tonight, Indy's Jukebox gets all loud and weird with Dead Man's Grill, Apostle of Solitude, Dead Man's Switch, Pragmatic, and Mr. Clit and the Pink Cigarettes. Tomorrow, you can take in Solumun Grundy. Note the spelling, people.

Fountain Square Music This Weekend

Radio Radio manages only one show this weekend - probably because they need the rest of the weekend to recover from the onslaught of Har Mar Superstar and Andy D.

The Hoosier Dome has Swan, Sonic Maelstrom, and Biorhythm tonight. Tomorrow, you can catch Venable’s last show ever. Or so they say. Indianapolis bands never break up, really.

It's Swing Night in Fountain Square tonight with the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra. And there's always the folks you know . . .

  • Live jazz at Maria's Pizza
  • Live lounge at the Brass Ring
  • Live acoustic music at the Red Lion tomorrow

Finally, although it's not technically in the neighborhood and it's not until next week, even, I wanted to mention Laura Balke's CD release show next week at the Earth House. Why? 'Cause a lot of it was recorded in the Murphy Building, and there's no structure more Fountain Square than that. Check out the songs at http://laurakbalke.com/ and enjoy!

28Oct/110

Fountain Square Music This Weekend

Radio Radio has big doings this weekend - Sebadoh and Mazes drop by tonight, and Creepin' Charley and the Boneyard Orchestra reunite tomorrow for their yearly show. Endiana is also on that bill.

Tonight's Vollrath show was canceled due to venue closure, but starting tomorrow all scheduled shows move to Indy's Jukebox. That lineup includes Brothers Gross, The Mustachios, 9th Circle Symphony, Black Arrow, and Mr. Clit and the Pink Cigarettes. Check with the venue website for potential conflicts, though. Don't know how all of the shows are going to shake out.

It's Swing Night in Fountain Square tonight with the Sunset Stomp Jazz Band. And don't forget about the regulars!

  • Live jazz at Maria's Pizza
  • Live lounge at the Brass Ring
  • Live acoustic music at the Red Lion tomorrow
And, of course, this is the last weekend for the run of Cabaret Poe - two more shows (tonight and tomorrow), and they're likely to sell out. Get your tickets while you can - this show will NOT be back next year.
21Oct/110

Fountain Square Music This Weekend and Still More Cabaret Poe

Radio Radio features Vulgar Boatmen and The Lovemeknots tonight (along with a premiere of the VB doc "Drive Somewhere"). Tomorrow, take in Joshua James and Honey Honey.

I can't count how many bands go through the Vollrath this weekend. Well, I can, but it makes me tired. Tonight, there's Dastard Lee, Eric Blair and the Absolute Nothings, Second Hand Theory, Rooster Well, and Plain As Day. Tomorrow, you can see Festival of The Damned, Threat Level, Biorhythm, Last Nail In, and The Elixirs. Finally, Sunday brings in Creepersin, Takin In, and Protest for Pluto.

And, of course, the regulars:

  • Live jazz at Maria's Pizza
  • Live lounge at the Brass Ring

Cabaret Poe continues its run today through October 29th - see it before it goes away forever. I can't count that long, either.
