Gah, too busy this week. Trying to keep up with a sub gig, FAWM.org, and two custom-publication books leaves me a little drained. Such is life. Here's what's going on with music in my neighborhood this weekend:

It's Swing Night at the Fountain Square Theater tonight with the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra. And there's always live jazz and lounge music at Maria's Pizza and the Brass Ring all weekend long.

Radio Radio manages only one show this weekend - probably because they need the rest of the weekend to recover from the onslaught of Har Mar Superstar and Andy D.

Finally, although it's not technically in the neighborhood and it's not until next week, even, I wanted to mention Laura Balke's CD release show next week at the Earth House. Why? 'Cause a lot of it was recorded in the Murphy Building, and there's no structure more Fountain Square than that. Check out the songs at http://laurakbalke.com/ and enjoy!

Tonight's Vollrath show was canceled due to venue closure, but starting tomorrow all scheduled shows move to Indy's Jukebox. That lineup includes Brothers Gross, The Mustachios, 9th Circle Symphony, Black Arrow, and Mr. Clit and the Pink Cigarettes. Check with the venue website for potential conflicts, though. Don't know how all of the shows are going to shake out.
