Friday’s Bass Porn

No Treble brought this beauty to my attention, and the audio clips pushed it over the edge - I love the way it looks and sounds, and I'm intrigued by the use of guitar tuners for the high strings.

These kind of posts are totally not helping with my FAWM.org efforts, which are woefully behind - maybe they'll accept an EP?

Quick FAWM Update

It's kicking my butt. So far this month, I have two songs. Kinda. And we're half-over, and I'm still looking at two independent book projects, too. Might have to amend this to FEPWM, but I'm sure they don't have a URL for that. Back at it.

Fountain Square Music This Weekend

Gah, too busy this week. Trying to keep up with a sub gig, FAWM.org, and two custom-publication books leaves me a little drained. Such is life. Here's what's going on with music in my neighborhood this weekend:

Radio Radio presents the album release for Everything, Now! tonight, with America Owns the Moon, Learner Dancer, and Vacation Club. This show is free, please act accordingly.

White Rabbit Cabaret hosts Cheyenne Marie Mize and Andrew Combs tonight.

Tonight, Indy's Jukebox gets all loud and weird with Dead Man's Grill, Apostle of Solitude, Dead Man's Switch, Pragmatic, and Mr. Clit and the Pink Cigarettes. Tomorrow, you can take in Solumun Grundy. Note the spelling, people.

At the Hoosier Dome, you can see Junior Battles, It's All Happening, and Wringer tonight. Tomorrow, list to Nick Vampire's Birthday Show with Brooklyn Vampire and Mr. Clit and The Pink Cigarettes.

It's Swing Night at the Fountain Square Theater tonight with the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra. And there's always live jazz and lounge music at Maria's Pizza and the Brass Ring all weekend long.

Too Music Music This Weekend

The big shows this weekend in Fountain Square is tonight with Toxic Reasons, DV, Harley Poe, and Vodka DeMilo at Radio Radio. Bigger Than Elvis plays there tomorrow. And spiritual Fountain Squarians Born Again Floozies play at the Super Bowl Village tomorrow. Too much going on this weekend with the Super Bowl - I just did the Oak Tree at The Time's show, and a Jimmy Fallon taping is next. Take care and be safe, all!

Dammit, Now I Have To Do Something . . .

So I made some noise about solo shows at the end of last year, and I went ahead and signed up for February Album Writing Month as a prompt to write some solo material.

And now I actually have to do it. Crap.

14 songs before the end of the month. Any ideas accepted.

I'm playing with the Loopy HD app for the iPad, which interfaces nicely with the SoftStep - I can choose and mute tracks fairly quickly, and the recording is a simple process. I'm still getting a weird fade in at the beginning of the loops, but I suspect playing with the noise gate will remedy that.

Now I just have to write 14 songs. Dammit.
