New IMN Podcast and Saving It While You Can

The new IMN podcast is up - download it or listen at the site or on WFYI HD2, Thursdays at 4pm and 10pm.

And be sure to download the episodes while you can. This NPR blog post points out that more and more analog recordings are disappearing, and that digital recordings aren't much safer due to obsolete formats and crashing hard drives. It's kind of sobering to realize that out of all the great music being produced, we're not going to be able to hang on to a lot of it.

Except for the millions of Extreme CDs that captured the magic of "More Than Words." And were then returned to the shop because the other songs sounded nothing like "More Than Words." There's going to be plenty of those well into the next millennium.
