Fountain Square Music This Weekend
Forgive the shameless self-promotion on this one, but the Playboy Psychonauts will be doing two sets at Radio Radio this evening along with the wonderful talents that are Jon and Denise Martin. It’s a benefit for the organizations that make up the Community Building Committee, so you get to enjoy some great music and help out Southeast Indianapolis communities at the same time. Saturday brings the Vulgar Boatmen with Old Flames and the David England CD release show. Sunday, there’s a special matinée show featuring the Meat Puppets and Blue Moon Revue.
The Vollrath hosts a huge show tonight with Prizzy Prizzy Please, Dr. Manhattan, Elsinore, CJ Boyd, Bronze Float, and Big Colour. CJ Boyd is a solo bassist, which makes me happy. Saturday, the venue hosts Casual Interuption, The John Strahl Band, and The Gypsy Revival Band. Hank Haggard makes an early appearance Sunday.
It’s Swing Night at the Fountain Square Theater tonight, and there’s live music at both Maria’s Pizza (jazz) and Deano’s Vino (acoustic). Enjoy, and I hope to see you tonight for sitar-based psychedelic freakouts.
