Languishing on the DVR
Don’t get me wrong – I’m quite happy to be going to Memphis for a long weekend. It’s got a certain Southern sleepiness to it (maybe that was because I last visited in October), but there’s still vibrant music and culture to be immersed in, and taking the trolley to the Arcade again will be a joy. Plus, I’ll have family down there now, which is an excellent excuse for more frequent trips.
Is it bad, however, to know that I’ll be thinking about the new episode of Battlestar Galactica just a little bit? Hoping the DVR doesn’t meet a violent end before I can get back to it? Realizing that the recently replaced electrical panel gives me more confidence in the recording going off as planned?
I’m a little saddened by this knowledge, myself.
The new IMN podcast is up. Download it or listen on the site. And enjoy your weekend.

Dude. They are doing a live web cast of the premiere on Friday at noon…if you aren’t on the road by that point.

As someone who has all of season 3 sitting, unwatched, on my DVR, I am unqualified to judge you. It’s not that I don’t WANT to see it–it’s just that I want to be able to see it ALL AT ONCE, sans cliffhangers or writer’s strikes.
Enjoy Memphis–pick up a vintage amp or guitar for me while you’re down there, ok? A ’59 Les Paul Standard would be great. Gold Top if they have it; otherwise just whatever…

On the road like Kerouac. And I’d feel tremendously guilty sitting in a hotel room on a Friday night in Memphis. If the DVR fails, there will be issues.
And Gabe, you’re getting a Peavey Minx dredged from the bottom of the Mississippi.
